Cross-country skiing is one of the best ways to appreciate the serenity of Estonian nature. You'll find tracks for everyone, from beginners to skiing enthusiasts, so rent equipment, ski into the night under lit tracks, and meet wild rabbits, fox, or deer. With so many places to choose from, you'll have difficulty deciding where to go cross-country skiing in Estonia!
Based in Tallinn? Then the ski tracks in Nõmme, Pirita, and Saku are just a few minutes away, making it easy to go for an afternoon or morning ski and then spend time seeing the sights in town. Other options are located further out, and we recommend combining your ski trip with a visit to Lahemaa National Park, Rakvere, or Narva.
North Estonia has so many cross-country skiing options we couldn't fit them all into one section!

Several large ski races take place throughout the winter, so come and join as a spectator or as a competitor yourself! Of course, there are plenty of options for amateur skiers as well.
The snow is usually the best in South Estonia, so we needed two sections for our recommendations. Here are a few more options for cross-country skiing in South Estonia!
West Estonia and the islands don't always have the best snow, compared to South Estonia. However, there are still a few options near Pärnu and Haapsalu, especially. You may need to bring your own equipment, so check out the website ahead of time if you're looking for a ski rental.
