Baltic Chain Memorial in Lilli

A memorial to the Baltic Chain was erected on the 20^th anniversary of the event at the Lilli–Ungru border crossing point in 2009.
The memorial, which is located within the borders of Latvia, depicts seven life-size human figures cut out of a metal wall, standing in a long line. You can stand next to the figure and feel what the people felt on 23 August 1989, when nearly 2 million of them from the three Baltic states from Tallinn to Vilnius joined hands in a 600-km-long human chain to protest the occupation of the Molotov–Ribbentrop pact in Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania.
