Black Nights Film Festival beyond cinema

Apart from an extensive film programme that involves all cinemas of the Estonian capital Black Nights FF this year will fill cafés and entertainment venues around Tallinn with special events and festival buzz from 12 to 28 November.

The Black Nights Film Festival now in its 16th edition screens an impressive number of over 400 films (approximately 225 in the main section) with 660 screenings, features three competitions (international, Baltic Sea and North-American Indies), 3 sub festivals of children's & youth, artistic animation, and short films, along with dedicated industry program and year around online film market - The Black Market Online. The festival is attended annually by over 500 film professionals and boasts an audience of 73 000 spectators.

Central off-cinema venue is the festival club Wabadus at Tallinn’s main square as a meeting point for guests and audiences. Every festival night in Wabadus will present a new star – jazz, pop live performances, DJs, surprise performers. With Black Nights movie ticket special price menu!

Black Nights FF will open in Kosmos cinema on the 15th November with Holy Motors. A new feature of the festival - Gourmet Cinema combines fine dining with an exciting brand new venue – the fantastic Seaplane Harbour – on 21st November.

Well-known Estonian musicians will perform film soundtracks at special concerts in Tartu (20th November) and Tallinn (22nd November).

Black Nights 16 will follow last festival’s successful club nights series with the pre-party on 9th November – the start of ticket sales – at Von Krahl and a club night on 23rd November at F-Hoone with DJ Jeremy Underground (Paris) and many Estonian film makers.

The red carpet closing ceremony of the 16th Black Nights Film Festival will be held at the Russian Theatre on 27th November.
