The 10th Birgitta Festival starts with American music and ends with the celebration of Eri Klas' 75th birthday.
The festival opens with “Mass” by the great 20th century American composer Leonard Bernstein. This production of "Mass" is a collaboration between four countries. In addition to the main character from USA, Estonian pop, rock, opera and jazz performers also take the stage. At the audience's request, the programme includes an Estonian production - the family musical "Arabella". The festival's rarities include a new genre - the opera ballet "Golden Rooster". The audience will most definitely love “Spartacus” with its vigorous fighting scenes and powerful plot. The festival ends with Verdi’s “Masked Ball” and the Eri Klas Gala, a birthday concert led by the maestro himself.
