Building of the Tallinn City Theatre

Tallinn City Theatre has been operating in Tallinn since 1965. The theatre has spread all across the Old Town and has made a home for itself in 16 interconnected medieval buildings. The theatre building itself (at Lai 23), which was renovated during the Soviet era, is an excellent example of a medieval merchant's home. You can pre-book a tour of the building, which takes about 1.5 hours and is suitable for groups of up to 20.

Good to know: the theatre performs both world classics and modern drama and runs its own international theatre festival, the Midwinter Night's Dream.
