The Tartu Christmas City invites local residents and visitors to enjoy a festive holiday season from the first Advent until January.

Every winter, Tartu Town Hall Square becomes a dreamy Christmas city where Christmas vibes, holiday warmth, and beloved traditions meet. For children, a straw house, swings, and carousels await, and in the city center, a sparkling Christmas chandelier and beautifully decorated tree create a magical holiday feeling.

You can explore pavilions filled with exhibitions, crafts, and Christmas traditions, take part in workshops, and enjoy live music. Cafés offer winter treats such as hot cocoa, gingerbread, mulled wine, and other delicious items. A small Christmas shop offers local holiday gifts.

Also in the heart of the Christmas City is a beloved ice rink, where you can take a lap around the Kissing Students fountain and enjoy winter in the center of Tartu. The ice rink is open until early March.
