Visitors to Valga County can experience for themselves what living in a village was like back in the olden days - going to the mill and the blacksmiths, trying their hand at local crafts and stoking the oven. At the 130-year-old (and still operational) Hellenurme water mill you can find out how the mill works and learn about its history. The museum rooms showcase life in the village from the manor era to the Soviet era. While at the mill you can also try a little metalwork. At Ketta Farm you will be met by the blacksmith and see and hear how he works, as well as get the chance to stoke the oven. And on Lutsu Farm you can refresh yourself, unwind in the sauna, bed down for the night and, if you wish, go orienteering.
