Conference tourism helps a declining economy

28. December 2009

Estonian Conference Bureau director of operations Riine Tiigi wrote that the economic crisis is spoken about mostly in a negative context in Estonia.

However, every economic crisis also offers new opportunities – reallocation of previous positions takes place on a cleared-out market or actually makes new possibilities for entering the market. Conference tourism is an economic broom in a perspective. Emotions which accompany a well-organized event make it to visitors' coworkers, friends and family members. This is once again a step towards better acquainting Estonia in the world, for coaxing new tourists to come here and turning our economy around into growth.
