Cycling on Muhu island

Muhu island is a place where time stops and the sea speaks...

Sleepy fishing villages, working windmills, country cottages with thatched roofs, multitudes of roe deer, moose and birds. Muhu St. Catherine's Church with its heathen tombstones in the village of Liiva is one of the oldest in Estonia. On the east coast, you find Prehistoric Culture Trail that takes you to holy places of the ancient Estonian religion.

The island can be reached by a ferry departing from Virtsu harbour. If you would like to continue towards Kuressaare, then a 3 km Väinatamm dam joins Muhu and Saaremaa islands across Väike strait.

The beautiful places in Muhu are also easy to visit by car if you do not have a bike at hand.
