Silma nature reserve is situated in the Tagalahe and Noarootsi lakes area of Haapsalu. It was established in order to protect the local waters, wetlands and meadows and their plants and animals. The nature reserve centre is located in Saare manor in Pürksi. Silma is a key nesting site for aquatic birds and an important resting place for migratory birds. Saunja Bay is considered an important spawning area for freshwater fish in the region. Did you know...?
