This international exhibition unveils the story behind a series of documentaries focussing on Finno-Ugric peoples. Lennart Meri, the much-loved head of state of Estonia from 1992 to 2001, was also a writer and film-maker. His mission was to tell the ancient story of Estonia and its people, seeking answers to eternal questions facing small nations - who we are, where we came from and where we are going. He was particularly fascinated by the experiences of small nations in keeping their culture alive in the face of foreign-language colonisation.
