BRIDGING THE WORLDS
With Pepe Danza and Dimitri Artemenko
2016, a year commemorated by Estas Tonne as Bridging the Wolds – keeps connecting, uniting, bringing closer and warming our hearts, so different yet so alike, scattered around this planet and divided by languages and cultures.
ESTAS TONNE – a bright musician with his enormous expressive power. Music for him is not a goal, yet more of a liberating tool evoking endless potential of a human to cognize oneself and the world outside. His music is a fusion of a variety of styles flowing into each other almost unnoticed and showing up as surprises in a harmonious structure of sound, reaching out differently in each performance, yet always in unique form and melody.
This emotional splendor may turn out to be not only a strong aesthetic experience, but also the beginning of a powerful awakening to a different understanding of the world and the true Self.
JOSEPH “PEPE” DANZA – unique and new phenomenon in the contemporary generation of musicians bent on breaking geographical and musical boundaries. Having lived, studied, and performed in many lands, Pepe has a wide cross-cultural versatility and has been called “the embodiment of World Music” and “The Extreme multi-instrumentalist”. He plays percussion, winds, strings and some almost unknown instruments from his collection of more than 300 instruments from around the world, as well as a few unique and quite special instruments, crafted specifically for Pepe.
Valued performer, composer and producer, whose everyday life includes also spiritual searches, amongst studies in India with the Dalai Lama.
Along with his extensive music activity, Pepe teaches meditation, zen and zen-Buddhism, harmoniously balancing this practices with mantras, voicework and Sound Healing.
DIMITRI ARTEMENKO – is an incredibly delicate and sensitive musician that traveled with his instrument across a variety of musical genres and styles before arriving to his own, unique sound. Dimitri uses 2 violins – acoustic and electric, which makes his tonal palette a very bright and varied one.
According to the violinist himself, his artistic biography has begun with his birth – starting with singing and when he soon first heard the violin, he took it in his arms and has never parted with it since then.
The passion for the instrument has led him to a music school at the Tallinn Conservatory. For finishing his educa-tion Dimitri has come to the Bagnolet Conservatory of Paris.
Nowadays he composes music for theater and cinema and has recorded over 50 albums with different musicians.
The Worlds of Estas Tonne, Pepe Danza and Dimitri Artemenko will come together and connect on the stage of the Russian Culture Centre, on NOVEMBER 7 and you are welcome to become a part of this unique event.
