The Eurpean Skating Championship will be held from January 18th to January 24th. During this period, nine competitions will be held. The EC 2010 is the largest sports competition held in Tallinn in 30 years, after the Olympic sailing regatta in 1980.
Single event tickets will become available on the 10th of October over the Internet at the webpage www.piletilevi.ee.
„The EC 2010 is under special attention from the international public, as a few weeks after the EC the Olympics are held and the event in Tallinn is the last chance for qualification,” said the Vice President of the Estonian Skating Union Margus Hernits and added that over 160 professional skaters will be competing in Tallinn, whose performances will be viewed by over 100 million people over the world and over 200 journalists on the spot. Ice skating is one of the most popular sports in the world.
The EC 2010 is an exceptional opportunity to see Europe’s best ice skaters competing and witness the performances of future Olympic medalists.
Estonia is expected to be represented at the EC 2010 by the Estonian champion Elena Glebova (women’s short program), Viktor Romanekov (men’s short program), Maria Sergejeva and Ilja Glebov (pairs) and Caitlin Mallory and Kristian Rand (ice dance).
