Guided tour in Pärnu ‘Mediaeval tour – city air makes you free’

REQUEST INFORMATION View on map

The saying ‘city air makes you free’ comes from a mediaeval rule: a peasant who managed to hide themselves from their land owner for at least 1 year and 1 day in the city was entitled to be free and the land owner could not reclaim them.
The tour mostly takes place in areas within the town and castle walls (today’s city centre). The bike tour also explores the outskirts outside the town wall and the Vana-Pärnu area.

The tour lasts for 1.5 hours; the bike tour lasts for 2 hours.
Participants of the bike tour also have to pay for the rental fee of the bikes.
The guide Triin Kolts conducts the tour in Estonian, English, or French.
