In the north east the only hills are man-made: cone-shaped solid waste dumps and plateaus, ash plateaus and black semi-coke heaps (reaching 110 m at Kiviõli).

South Estonia, especially around Otepää, is the hilliest region. Beautiful views open from the observation towers on top of Kuutsemägi, Harimägi and Väike Munamägi hills.

Surprisingly the 318 metres high Suur Munamägi (‘Great Egg Hill’) is not only the highest point in Estonia but in the Baltics as well.
