The Home of Theatre, situated in Tartu's Old Town, is a theatre inspired by a museum and forms part of the Tartu Toy Museum. It takes its inspiration from our childhoods, the games we played, the dreams we had and the fantasies we brought to life. The Home of Theatre hosts performances, but you can also put on your own, play games and let your creative spirit run free, finding out all the while what goes on behind the scenes in the theatre. There is a children's studio on the second floor in which children's groups can take part in theatre-themed programmes. The basement level is home to a musuem of theatre puppets, an automated puppet theatre and a medieval residence unearthed during an archeological dig.
