Hotels hope to increase number of tourists

14. December 2009

The number of Russian tourists staying in Estonian accommodations grew in October by more than a fifth compared with the same time last year, and Estonia should also be a popular place amongst our eastern neighbors during the New Year.

While nearly half of visitors to Viru Hotel in October were from Finland, many guests from Russia are expected for the holiday, said Sokos Hotel Viru communications director Peep Ehasalu. Nordic Hotel Forum is awaiting many visitors from Russia for the New Year, though also from Finland, said the hotel's director of operations Feliks Magus. A large portion of rooms have been reserved for the New Year's holiday.
