The building at Munga 12, used as a schoolhouse since 1804, is certainly one of the most eye-catching buildings when you go for a walk in the historical Jaani quarter of Tartu. The house by Rüütli Street was specifically built for a school in 1830 (architect GFW Geist). The school was named after the well-known scholar Hugo Treffner.
Interesting facts: - the building is called the Princess House as it belonged to Princess of Kuramaa Hedwig E Biron in 1784 and is still the most eye-catching building in the Jaani quarter.
