This manor complex was built in 1833 in neo-gothic style to the designs of Hans von Stackenschneider, who would go on to become one of the key representatives of the historicist style in Russia.
In addition to its architecture, what makes the Keila-Joa manor complex stand out is its amazing location - it is situated deep in a valley next to a rocky river with rapids and waterfalls, plus high cliffs from which open up amazing views of the surrounding countryside.
