Rudolf Tobias House Museum

Rudolf Tobias, the founder of Estonian classical music, lived most of his childhood in this very house - today's house museum named after him, which is located in Hiiumaa.
The house, built in the first half of 19th century, is one of the few buildings of this kind preserved in Estonia. It is a town house with elements of a farm house. Today the museum's exhibition depicts the life of the famous composer in Estonia, Saint Petersburg, and Berlin. Here the time stands still and after entering the house you feel as if you were surrounded by the life and creation of Rudolf Tobias. On display you can see furniture and musical instruments from the 19th and 20th centuries, which were characteristic of Rudolf Tobias' work.
