Lahemaa National Park was founded in 1971 and was created for preservation, research and introduction of Northern-Estonian nature and cultural heritage, biological diversity, landscapes, national culture and conservative usage of nature. Here the forest, swamp and coast ecological systems, historical and architectural memories are preserved. Lahemaa is one of the most important forest protected area in Europe.
Interesting to know: - The best ways to get to know Lahemaa nature are the nature tracks. - On the territory of national park you can visit manors and other sightseeing places that could be interesting for both children and families.
