See photos (3) The Lake Paukjärv nature trail is 5 km long and circular in shape. It is signposted with yellow markings on the trees. It winds its way around the eskers next to Lake Paukjärv and through the valleys between them. You will encounter a range of different forest types along the trail, from humid greenwoods, picked out in mottled light, to bright pine glades.
You can set out, on foot or by bike, from the Lake Paukjärv or Koersilla car park. From the lake, you can explore Kõnnu Suursoo bog along the boardwalk or combine a hike around both Jussi and the lake.
Camping area
At the 29 km marker on the Jägala–Käravete road (no. 13), turn off to the left onto the gravel road through the forest. Drive on for 7.2 km and turn right where you see the sign marked ‘Paukjärve’. Continue a further 2.2 km until you come to the Kaksiksilla car park, which marks the start of the Lake Paukjärv nature trail.
