Maiasmokk is the oldest café anywhere in Tallinn and indeed Estonia - it has been in the same location since 1864. The café is unique due to its interior, which has remained unchanged for almost a century.

There is a marzipan museum in the cafe building which provides a fascinating overview of the history of the treat - which was originally made by pharmacists as a type of medicine before gaining popularity as a sweet.
