Maiasmokk is the oldest café anywhere in Tallinn and indeed Estonia - it has been in the same location since 1864. The café is unique due to its interior, which has remained unchanged for almost a century.
In this cosy café you can enjoy its fresh pastries, pies and cakes, as well as delicious handmade candies.
There is a marzipan museum in the cafe building which provides a fascinating overview of the history of the treat - which was originally made by pharmacists as a type of medicine before gaining popularity as a sweet. There is always an artist in the museum decorating marzipan figures, and they will often take visitors' requests!
Must visit place in Tallinn. Founded in 1806 in exact same building, this place holds onto original marzipan recipies. Can watch how sweets are made, to find out a lot about the history of Marzipan...
Quiet yet busy cafe. Nice cakes. Full of tourist and everybodys taking photos so you never know hows photo you end up :) Nice Chai Lattes.
Good place to stop in Old Town and enjoy a cappuccino and pastry. Cute cafe with character and history. Would recommend.
