'The Broken Line' monument

This monument was erected on the Suur Rannavärav bastion in Tallinn in memory of those who lost their lives on the 'Estonia' ferry, which sank on the night of 28 September 1994 travelling between Tallinn and Stockholm. 137 people were rescued, but 852 died - 757 of whom were never found.

Moving, but also dangerous

The memorial is a moving tribute to a shipwreck that I had not been previously aware of. An older Estonian woman passing by gave us a little history lesson about the wreck and what it meant to her...

Very touching

Very touching monumet to those people who lost their live in that horrible shipwreck 1994. Scaled to amout of passengers, more people lost their life than shipwreck of Titanic 1912.
