Sakala Centre

The Sakala Centre is a modern cultural centre in the heart of Viljandi. It can host recreational and cultural events as well as seminars and conferences. The first floor is also home to the Harmoonia cafe.

The place has a colourful history – 100 years ago the building was a well-known tavern and a favourite among the local farmers on their comings and goings from the town. After the war the damaged building was renovated in Stalinist style, of which it remains one of the best-preserved examples in Viljandi.
