See photos (10) Muhu Käsitöö store is a family company that sells local crafts: different fabrics from Muhu and Saaremaa, embroidered items, textiles, and wood products. You can see and order a Muhu skirt or custom-made shoes with Muhu embroidery. If you want, we can help you put together a folk costume. The owner of the store, Velli, can also tell the background story of each handicraft item: she is one of the last people actively knitting the authentic Muhu skirt fabric.
When coming from the ferry: when you arrive at Kuivastu, look for the white building on your right. The store has local patterns on the facade and orange signs. There is an ice cream kiosk next to the store – you can park your car there. When going on the ferry: make sure you get to the harbour in a timely manner. Leave your car in the ferry queue and search for the white building with orange signs on your left. The store is a 1-minute walk from there. When coming from the island (not going on the ferry): when you arrive at Kuivastu, pass the pay-offices from the left. Drive next to the garden straight to the store. You can park next to the ice cream kiosk.
