National Symphony Kicks Off Season under Järvi

The National Sympohony Orchestra ERSO starts its new season at the Estonia concert hall under the baton of Neeme Järvi, the new chief conductor.

The concerts on September 9-10 will also mark composer Arvo Pärt's 75th birthday and Gustav Mahler's 150th birth anniversary. 

To be performed tonight is Pärt's "Cecilia, Vergine Romana" for choir and orchestra (2000/2002) and Symphony No. 3 (1971) and  Mahler's Symphony No. 1 in D Major. The chamber choir Voces Musicales will also be featured.
 
The concerts are part of the festivities marking Pärt's birthday organized by the Nargen Festival.
