The National Sympohony Orchestra ERSO starts its new season at the Estonia concert hall under the baton of Neeme Järvi, the new chief conductor.
The concerts on September 9-10 will also mark composer Arvo Pärt's 75th birthday and Gustav Mahler's 150th birth anniversary.
To be performed tonight is Pärt's "Cecilia, Vergine Romana" for choir and orchestra (2000/2002) and Symphony No. 3 (1971) and Mahler's Symphony No. 1 in D Major. The chamber choir Voces Musicales will also be featured.
The concerts are part of the festivities marking Pärt's birthday organized by the Nargen Festival.
