Tallinn Town Hall is one of the most important symbols of the city and a unique architectural monument in Europe. The Town Hall, established in the heart of the city in the 13th century, was completed in its current shape in 1404 and it is the only preserved Gothic style town hall in Northern Europe. The rarest objects of art in the Town Hall include the carved bench backs from the 14th and 15th centuries and 16th century wall paintings in the city government hall. The Town Hall is still an important building for the city government and is used for official receptions and concerts for up to 120 people.
