The barge yard forms part of Tartu's Lifeguard Station on Ujula Street. It includes a blacksmiths, handicraft workshop and construction area.
The Emajõgi River Barge Association organises special trips and nature excursions on the Emajõgi River and Lake Peipus. The 'Jõmmu' barge is great for little ones to come and learn about heritage craft and shipbuilding, and you can also go on a short trip. The barge can also host special events and seminars.
