SEB 5. Tartu Rulluisumaraton, taking place in Estonia from August 13-14, is well known by the numerous participants from abroad. All together skaters from 13 countries have signed up for the moment, the most distant ones from Venezuela and Qatar. Over a thousand participants are expected to one of the biggest inline skating marathons in the Eastern-Europe this year.
Less than 2 weeks before the marathon, almost 1000 participants have signed up for the event. Among others, Alfredo Moreno, Inline Skating Champion of Venezuela and the Winner of Tartu Rulluisumaraton in 2009, takes part. „The marathon is a very spectacular and the most important inline skating event in Estonia. Inline skating is very popular in Estonia, I do not know any other countries, where Prime Minister and First Lady are also active inline skaters,“ markes Moreno, owner of many podium places of the World Inline Cup. “My expectation for this year in Tartu is to get back to podium. This would be a way to thank my team UUSMAA/Rollerblade Team Estonia for the season,” he adds.
„The Estonian inline skaters appreciate the possibility to compare their skills with so many skaters from abroad,“ comments Enel Kõrva, who has successfully participated the marathon in all the previous years being the winner among women for three times out of four. This year again all the neigbouring countries of Estonia will be presented, in addition skaters from Byelorussia, Ukraine, Germany, Qatar and Venezuela.
SEB 5. Tartu Rulluisumaraton is a two day family event. On Saturday, August 13th, a sprint competition and races for children take place. On Sunday, August 14th, the main distances of the marathon are opened – 42 km and 21 km race. Registration for Tartu Rulluisumaraton is opened until the 13th of August.
