Matsalu is a well-known birdwatching area. Come and see the varied bird species, also the wooded meadows, reeds, meadows, coastal pastures and alvars. There are 3 rest areas by the track, information boards and Penijõe viewing tower. The tower is nearest to the centre of the protection area – on the left bank of the Penijõe River.
Good to know:
The length of the trail is from 1.6 to 7 kilometres. You should allow yourself 1,5–4 hours. You will need rubber boots and binoculars for watching birds.
