Peter the Great House Museum

Peter’s house or the “old palace” is a building with a long and interesting history and it originates from the time before the present Kadriorg Palace was named the "new palace".
Peter the Great and his wife Catherine stayed here on their visits to Tallinn. The museum’s exposition is comprised of a drawing room, dining room and bedroom, and the recently converted attic and excavated cellar. The house is furnished with items that belonged to the Tsar and other objects from the period.

The House Museum organizes tours and educational programmes for pupils and lectures for adults. The museum premises are available for exhibitions and events for smaller groups.

Worth a quick visit if in the area

We only came to the Museum because we were visiting the Kumu and Kadroig Palace nearby and it was covered with our Tallinn Card. The house is furnished with items that belonged to Peter the Great...

    Cute little house

It will take you half an hour to see this museum, but it's interesting and puts context to the whole Kadriorg park. Living quarters of Russian tzar Peter I. during his visits to Estonia.

Worth a visit if you are in Kadriorg Park

There is not much to see in the museum but you do get a bit of the history of Peter I in Estonia and there are numerous interesting artefacts there. Only worth going if you are already in the park.
