Pikakari beach, on the Paljassaare peninsula in northern Tallinn, is located near Katariina pier that was constructed as a part of a battery of the Peter the Great sea fortress.
The beach has changing cabins, a volleyball court, swings, benches, a boardwalk, rubbish bins and outside toilets.
Life guards are on duty between 9 am and 8 pm from June until August.
The sea becomes deep fast at this small sandy beach; when you go into water, there is a sudden drop and a stony bottom in the first few metres. Waves created by passing passenger ships add excitement.
The beach has been awarded a Blue Flag.
Nearby, you find Paljassaare nature reserve and a nature trail.
