We depart from the Atlantis pier in Tartu every Saturday morning at 10 am and embark on a trip to Piirissaare.
Piirissaare is the only permanently inhabited Estonian island in Lake Peipsi. The north-eastern part of the island has three villages (Piiri, Tooni and Saare). Most of the inhabitants of Piirissaare are Old Orthodox Russians whose main activities include fishing and growing onions.
A boat trip to Piirissaare lasts for about 4-4.5 hours; you have 1.5 hours to look around on the island. We are going to arrive back in Tartu approximately at 9 pm. You can stay on the island for a little longer if all passangers agree with a later return time.
