The Sausti estate was first mentioned in historical records in 1453.
From 1757 to 1891 it belonged to Berend Heinrich von Tiesenhausen.
The current development plan for the estate is designed to ensure that future generations have something to admire and that they realise that example of the real Estonia can still be found. At present the manor operates as a conference and training centre, offering accommodation in its guesthouse.
