Soomaa National Park was established in 1993 to protect a huge area of bogs, meadows and forests.
A visitors’ centre is located at the heart of the park in Kõrtsi-Tõramaa. Completed in 1998, it was built at the crossroads of old farm tracks where the historical Naari tavern once stood.
Here you can obtain information about the hiking trails and local services in the national park as well as take a look at the centre’s exhibits and media programmes. A study trail begins just near the centre which showcases the lives of beavers.
