The 3.5 km Tädu nature study trail is located in Viimsi municipality and runs along a forest trail. An attraction of the trail is fir trees growing on boulders. There are in total 9 interest points on the route.

It takes 1.5–2 hours at a calm pace to complete this 3.5-kilometre forest trail. The path starts at a little car park with am outhouse, information stand, map and introductory text. At the end of the trail, there is  a bonfire and picnic site where you can rest your feet and have a meal. The trail ends at Randvere tee and there is a 800m walk along the roadway back to the beginning of the trail.  The trail introduces various types of trees and stages of forest management - what, how and when is done.

Getting there

Drive from Viimsi towards Randvere along Randvere tee. 80 m from the bus stop ‘Tädu kuusk’ turn right to the car park of Tädu nature study trail Take bus No 38 (Viru Centre – Muuga) to Hansunõmme stop. Change to Randvere – Haabneeme bus V2, get off at ‘Tädu Kuusk’ stop, you have to walk back a little around the corner to get to the beginning of the trail. Take bus No 1A (Viru Centre-Viimsi Centre) to the final stop where you have to change to Randvere – Haabneeme bus V2, get off at ‘Tädu Kuusk’ stop, you have to walk on a little to get to the beginning of the trail.

Love it

I mean, how many places there are, where you can step from town to forrest? Tädu is. There are no cars allowed. so you dont have to watch out of them. Walking with kids, dog, picking mushrooms...
