The Town Hall Square is the trapeze-shaped central square of Tartu that is surrounded by classicist buildings. A foundation with kissing students was built in the Town Hall Square in 1998. The most important market of the city – der Grosse Markt or the Big Market – was located in the Town Hall Square in the 18th century.
