Simple Session 14 will be hosting 180 top athletes from around the world at Saku Arena, the largest indoor event hall of the Estonian capital. With 80 skateboarders and 100 BMX-riders from 35 different countries, Simple Session has grown into one of the most international action sports events out there.
The two-day event line-up consists of some of the most established riders in the business as well as new talents from the neighboring countries, who earned their place in the Simple Session starting list at qualification contests held in Sweden, Finland, Russia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland.
Some of the highlight names of the line-up include BMX pro-riders such as Garrett Reynolds (USA), Dan Lacey (GBR), Kevin Peraza (MEX), Drew Bezanson (CAN), Michael Beran (CZE) and Bruno Hoffman (GER), to name a few. In skateboarding discipline, world-renowned pro-riders Ryan Sheckler (USA), Ryan Decenzo (CAN), Greg Lutzka (USA), David Gonzales (COL), Micky Pappa (CAN) and Ryo Sejiri (JPN) will be competing for the champion title.
Lifting the spirits of the riders and spectators will once again be the BMX announcers Zack "Catfish" Yankush and Darryl Nau, and skate announcers Dave "Double D" Duncan and Tim O’Connor.
The event will be webcast LIVE in HD on Simple Session website session.ee, the finals will also be broadcast via RedBull.tv. In 2013, Simple Session webcast reached over one million viewers worldwide and was the first sports event in Europe to be streamed live on the XBOX Live platform with over 50 million users.
Simple Session will start off with two days of practice sessions on February 20-21, followed by qualification runs on Saturday, February 22. Both skateboarding and BMX finals will take place on Sunday, February 23rd. On Monday, 24th the contest park will be open the whole day for everyone to ride.
The massive contest park with detailed and exciting features suited for both BMX and skateboarding is designed by acclaimed designer Nate Wessel, who also creates parks for X-Games and Woodward.
Each year the event attracts 10,000 spectators to the venue, most of whom are locals but also over a thousand action sports fans from abroad. Simple Session is highly anticipated not only because of the sport, but also because of the overall laid-back and relaxed festival vibe, five-day party program, film festival screenings and other side events.
