City Fun

Young or youthful people like you want fun and Estonia can offer plenty of that.

The main Estonian cities and especially Tallinn, the capital, all have plenty of clubs, bars and events targeted at young people. Tallinn is a city full of quirky charms, some unexpected, some reassuringly familiar. Whether your taste is heavy metal, lounge, techno or pop music there are lots of choices.

The capital of southern Estonia Tartu is the second largest city in the country and the oldest in the Baltic States. Tartu is a modern city with a rich historical heritage and culture. As there are many students in Tartu, you are very likely to bump into strange events, performances and activities organized by this restless company. Academic chaos is the governing order of this nice small town.

If you love busy beach life then head to Pärnu, the summer capital of Estonia. Besides being a resort, Pärnu is also a Hanseatic city, a harbour city and a university city. The city regains its relaxing atmosphere in autumn. Many people prefer this quiet Pärnu and spent an autumn weekend relaxing in a spa or a trip to a cosy villa offering some peace and quiet.

The summer months see many festivals and it’s worth checking the events calendar to see what’s on when you are here.

Get Out of the Cities

Young Estonians like getting out of the cities too to go camping, canoeing, windsurfing, jet skiing and swimming at beaches and lakes on the edge of sandy pine forests.

Some people like to rent a car or bicycles and head off the one of Estonia’s Islands where the culture and pace of life is different – more relaxed, more romantic.

In fact there are just too many fun things to do in Estonia to list here so you should check the things to see and do section.

Studying in Estonia

A growing number of young people come to study in Estonian Universities – it’s cheaper than many other European countries and international programmes meet all European standards . If you do then you will probably drawn to Tartu, Estonia’s University City - buzzing with student fun.
