Tulip Festival takes off at the Tallinn Botanic Garden

On May 12 Tulip festival is launched at the Tallinn Botanic Garden.

On the opening day Frank Zimmerman gives an comprehensive lecture on tulip horticulture. Anyone interested can examine different plants under a microscope with the help of educationalists on spot. Visitors can walk on defined areas between the tulip beds to take pictures.  
In Autumn around 55 000 tulips of 55 different varieties were planted in the Tallinn Botanic Ggarden. In addition to tulips other spring plants were planed; narcissus, hyacinth, crocuses and other flowers.
