Tartu border (0 km) – Kukulinna Road (12.2 km) – circle around Saadjärv – Kukulinna (30) – Vedu (35.7 km) – Kallaste Road (41 km) – Aovere (46.3 km) – Luunja crossroad (57.8 km) – Tartu border (63.9 km)
This route is one of the best ones in the area. Lake Saadjärv is worth seeing by itself, and the views of the hilly landscape near the lake are also beautiful. You can get a view from higher up from the Lähte observation tower.
Starting from Tartu, you will get to enjoy cycling paths until Lake Saadjärv, and a little later on from Äksi to Tabivere and from Luunja back to Tartu. There is a famous Ice Age Centre, a harbour and several nice swimming places by Lake Saadjärv.
From Kukulinna, drive via Vedu and Aovere to Luunja. This section of road runs along highways with medium traffic density, but the surroundings are quite nice – Luunja Manor Park, Emajõgi and horse stables are worth seeing. The road to Tartu via Kabina is also a favourite among cyclists.
It is good to start the hike from Tartu. Those coming from further away can get there by train. Kärkna and Tabivere stations are also good places to start from.
