A hike from Vainupea to Altja

The hike starts at Vainupea, which was a famous summer resort as early as during the Tsarist period. There, the romantic Vainupea chapel is located right next to the sea. The hike runs along the coast on the beach and stops for a little while at Mustoja, which has become the most popular picnic spot among the locals. We will cross the Mustoja suspension bridge and carry on with our hike.

The hike will end in Altja, a coastal village with a colourful history, which was restored by the Lahemaa National Park as it "originally" was. The boathouses and tavern at Altja are very famous, and they offer traditional meals of the Estonian seaside locals. The village swing and the bonfire site are located here as well. Larger groups can order two guides.
