The history walk tour is meant for visitors interested in history and introduces the sights and buildings from a historical perspective. History means more than just wars and military monuments – it denotes science and culture, architecture, and botany. Therefore, we can boldly say that if sea is reflected in a drop of water, the Estonian history is reflected in the history of Tartu.
Among the buildings of Tartu the highlights of different eras have been combined. The tour starts at the Town Hall Square, which dates back to prehistory and at the Town Hall, which is already the third one at the same spot (1780s). The St. John's Church and Cathedral are ancient as well (13th century).
