About the pianist:

Lithuanian pianist Gintaras Januševičius rose to fame in 2004, after the performance at the semi-finals of the Montreal International Musical Competition. Christophe Huss of “Classics Today” wrote in his article: "Gintaras Januševičius glides, like an albatross. His semi-final and final performances were rare revelations for me; they fall outside the scope of competition because they are neither rankable nor quantifiable” …he had left his imprint as a kind of apparition from another place, notably with his performance of Rachmaninoff's Études-tableaux Opus 39. We saw him shake up the rhythms, moving forward, straight as a pin, with the simplicity of the master and the vitality of the young man he is.”

Januševičius’ recitals include numerous concerts in most cities of Lithuania and Germany as well as New York, Washington, Rio de Janeiro, Shenzhen, London, Paris, Moscow, Madrid, Rome, Vienna, Barcelona etc. He has performed together with the Orchestra Symphonique de Montreal, Moscow Symphony Orchestra, Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra, both Lithuanian National and Lithuanian State Symphonic Orchestras and many others.

Since 2009 Gintaras Januševičius shares his knowledge and experience also in his own master classes and he is also sought-after juror in several international music contests in 2008 he created highly successful educational concert series “Plathner’s eleven” in Germany and managed as artistic director until 2015. Currently he leads artistic director posts for music competition "Die Hannoversche Börse der Musiktalente", piano competition "Einbecker Klavierfrühling" and winter piano academy “Feuerwerk”. In 2017 the biggest piano academy in Baltic States “Klaipėda Piano Masters” was founded by him.
