Amandus Adamson Studio Museum
Amandus Adamson Studio Museum is located in Paldiski in the summer studio of one of Estonia's best-known sculptors. The house, which was designed and built by Amandus Adamson (1855-1929) himself, is a beautiful example of the wooden lace architecture of the early 20th century. In the studio, you can learn about the life and creations of the artist and see his personal furniture, family photos, and documents. The walls are decorated with historical stencil paintings, and the garden is adorned with a mighty larch planted by the artist himself.
Adamson's best-known works include the Russalka memorial in Tallinn and several maritime-themed sculptures that confirm his important role in Estonian art history. Various workshops on art will take place in the museum during the summer, and interested visitors can also order a guided tour. The outbuilding houses a seasonal gallery with traveling exhibitions, and you can rent bikes on-site to discover Paldiski on your own.
Well-behaved pets are welcome! You can also visit the museum with a public ticket from the Harju County Museum in the city of Keila.
