Building complex of the Tallinn City Theatre

Tallinn City Theatre has been operating in Tallinn since 1965. The theatre has spread all across the Old Town and has made a home for itself in 16 interconnected medieval buildings. The theatre building itself (at Lai 23), which was renovated during the Soviet era, is an excellent example of a medieval merchant’s home.
You can pre-book a tour of the building, which is about 1.5 hours long and is suitable for groups of up to 20.
NB: The tour runs along medieval corridors and steep staircases.
The city theatre performs both world classics and modern drama and runs its own international theatre festival, the Midwinter Night’s Dream.
