The largest museum in Estonia (nearly 6,000 m² of exhibition space) invites you to discover the everyday life of Estonians throughout history at the permanent exhibition ‘Encounters’ and to learn about the life of the Finno-Ugric peoples in the permanent exhibition ‘Echo of the Urals’. The museum experience is complemented by temporary exhibitions. There is a restaurant and a museum shop. The outdoor areas of the museum are perfect for resting and having a picnic. There is a romantic rotunda and a glass-roofed distillery on the shores of Lake Raadi.
The Estonian National Museum offers workshops, educational programmes, and guided tours in 11 languages. The museum is a modern conference centre and venue for international events.
Food and drinks
From the city centre, the shortest route to the museum is via Roosi Street. When you reach the end of the street where Muuseumi Road begins, you will find entrance A to the building (information booth: +372 736 3051). In order to get to entrance B of the museum, you need to turn right to Muuseumi Road from Roosi Street and continue until you get to the parking lot (information booth at entrance B: +372 736 3052). Take bus No. 7 from the Soola bus stop (next to Tasku Centre) or Vabaduse bus stop next to the market.
