FIS Nordic Combined World Cup in Otepää

The FIS Nordic Combined World Cup will be held in Otepää for the first time!

The year 2018 will mark the 30th anniversary of the bronze race of Allar Levandi at the Olympics held in Calgary. To keep the tradition of Estonian nordic combined skiing alive and motivate new athletes, the Nordic Combined World Cup will be held in Estonia for the first time. The major event in Otepää will be the first sporting event of the jubilee year of the republic.

The world cup, belonging to the competition calendar of the International Ski Federation (FIS) competition will bring the world's best nordic combined skiers to Otepää: among others, the four-time world champion Johannes Rydzek and overall world cup winner Eric Frenzel.

On Saturday, an individual competition will be held on Tehvandi Stadium and on Sunday, a team sprint. For the first time in the world of sports history, female nordic combined skiers will also participate in the continental championship by racing in the individual races on both days.

Come and cheer for Estonians, and spend a lovely weekend in Otepää during the school holiday!
