FAM trip to Estonia, May 12 - 18

Your May 12 - 18 Estonia programme:

Day 1, May 12th – Friday
17:00 arrival in Tallinn airport of the  first participants;
You will be picked up with a sign in the airport - welcome by your tour guide and tour leader for the trip - Katri.
20min bus transfer to the city centre, to the hotel;
check in, settling in; the hotel has a small wellness area and a pool, to pack a swimsuit would be a good idea.

19:30 warm-up dinner in restaurant Päris - 7-8min walk from the hotel in a business district of the city centre.
Overnight in L'Embitu hotel, in the quiet part of the city centre, 10min walk from the old town, 5min from the shopping centre Solaris.

Day 2, May 13th - Saturday
10:00 a slow cycling tour in Tallinn's seaside, Kadriorg and Pirita. The bicycles will be brought to the hotel, the tour starts at the hotel door. For receiving a right sized bicycles, we kindly ask to share your height with us.
12:30 cycle tour ends at the harbour, in the cruise terminal
13:00 lunch in the harbour, in restaurant Oceans 11
14:30 bus will bring you to the hotel
14:45 - 17:45 free time to either check the hotel's wellness area options or visit the nearby Solaris shopping centre for some Estonian gifts, clothing labels and accessories.
17:45 bus will pick you up to bring to the old town
18:00 pre-dinner cocktails in a little secret bar Botaanik
19:00 we will be cooking together in KÖÖK in old town, learning about Estonia's foraging culture, some tastes and tricks of Estonian food with the help of their chef Ellery
NB! From 11 - 13th there is a music festival taking place in town, Tallinn Music Week, with wide variety of genres and locations. We have provided tickets to go see one of the concerts after dinner in Vaba Lava in Telliskivi Creative City.

Overnight in L'Embitu hotel.

Day 3, May 14th – Sunday
10:00 checked out, luggage to the bus;
10:20 first stop Open Air Museum in Tallinn residential suburbs, to get a glimpse of Estonian rural past
11:50 drive back to the city centre
old town and Rotermann walking tour, part 1
13:00 lunch in the in old town, restaurant Rataskaevu 16
14:30 exploring the old town and Rotermann district with a walking tour, part 2;
16:10 transfer to the Tallinn airport
18:30 flight from Tallinn airport to Kuressaare, Saaremaa island (40min). NYX air.
19:10 arrival to Kuressaare
Dinner and accommodation in Pilguse Residency, 30min from Kuressaare in a peaceful surrounding.

NB! Late evening 3 guests will arrive on separate flights to Tallinn, transfers will bring them to the hotel L'Embitu.

Day 4, May 15th – Monday

For the 3 guests who arrived on the 14th:
06:00 a transfer will pick you up from L'Embitu hotel; for an early morning flight to Kuressaare at 07:40 (check in for luggage opens 1h prior).
On arrival - a pick up by Visit Saaremaa will bring the new guests to join the rest of the group at breakfast in Pilguse.

08:30 breakfast will be served in Pilguse
09:30 a small tour of the residence
10:00 we depart, exploring the rest of Saaremaa, the biggest island that is known for its spa hotels in Kuressaare, windmills, fishing and sustainable way of life.
Our programme foresees visiting local syrup makers at Kadaka; looking at seaviews with a feeling like being at the end of the earth on Panga pank; having lunch on a historical ship Hoppet; visiting the medieval Kuressaare castle and popping by a local handicraft designer at Atelier Hertta.
In the evening, driving on to Saaremaa's little sister Muhu island, where they say that this is the place where time goes to have a rest.

19:00 dinner all together in Muhu Namaste, but accommodation will divide our group in two: 5 remain in Namaste, the rest will be brought to Nautse Mihkli after dinner (15min drive). Both are very characteristic Muhu village examples and for the sake of authenticity, as the accommodations are small, we hope you don't mind the little extra effort of a bus ride!

Day 5, May 16th - Tuesday
08:30 breakfast in Nautse and Namaste
09:30 checked out, luggage in the bus. For a couple of hours you will get a glimpse of Muhu island;
Before heading back to the mainland,  a quick light meal will be served in Muhu Veinitalu - a wine producer and guesthouse.
13:30 (or a bit later) a ferry trip Kuivastu - Virtsu - back to mainland.
arrival to Tallinn and check in to the hotel Oru Hub in Kadriorg.
After settling in you have some free time (to walk in Kadriorg park or take a tram to the city centre).

19:45 gathering to walk to the nearby Mon Repos restaurant for dinner;

Day 6, May 17th - Wednesday
09:00 checked out, ready for a 1h15min drive eastwards to start exploring Lahemaa National Park.
It is a protected nature area with endless pineforest and hiking trails, beautiful coastline and serene marshland landscapes with wooden trails, lakes, manor houses and small villages. Lunch will be served outdoors.
Afternoon - discoveries of Lahemaa continue.
Overnight and dinner: in a manor house in the area, Vihula Manor Country Club and Spa

Day 7, May 18th - Friday, Tallinn morning and departure
09:00 transfer back to Tallinn
10:20 arrival to Tallinn;
choice of free time or Telliskivi/Noblessner tour
12:00 coffee break
13:00 transfer to the airport

2 guests will stay longer individually, their programme will be settled separately if necessary.
